Nigerian Politician And Former APC Presidential Candidate Threatens To Sue Twitter Owner For Supporting #EndSARS Protest
A former Nigerian presidential aspirant, Senator Adamu Garba has threatened to take legal action against Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, for supporting the ongoing protest against the extrajudicial activities of the now-defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
247NNU had reported that there is an ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country against the SARS tactical unit of the Nigerian Police Force over its brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Jack Dorsey declared his support for the protest and urged all his followers to make donations via Bitcoin in support of the #EndSARS capmpaign which has seen many Nigerians take to the street in protest.
He tweeted, “Donate via Bitcoin to help #EndSARS” while also retweeting a tweet from the Feminist Coalition informing people of the modes by which contributions can be made.

Reacting to the development, Adamu Garba warned the Twitter CEO to stay away from Nigerian Politics, alledging that the #EndSARS protest which was meant to be against police brutality, have been transformed into political agitation.
Noting that the solicited donations by Jack is capable of helping the protest to escalate beyond the already overstretched security management in Nigeria, the former Senator promised to drag the Twitter CEO to court if the protest continue to evolve into disorder.
“Dear @jack. It’ll do you a lot more good if you stay away from Nigerian Politics. You should know that the so-called #EndSARS protest have transformed into political agitation, capable of breaking law & order in our country. You should not be a moral & financial sponsor to this.
“This is Nigeria, most of the demands initially presented was attended to by the responsible authorities. SARS no longer exist in this country. Your support for a disbanded entity was a needless interference. We cannot allow killings again in Nigeria in the name of protests.
“I understand that this may play well to your business, you have more content, more people & more activity on your platform, but to us is about life, peace & security of our dear Country, we cannot allow you to be part of the people sponsoring disorder. We need peace & prosperity.
“I can see you are even sharing a link for people to donate money for this protest, an event capable of escalation beyond our already overstretched security management. If this protest continued to evolved into disorder (hopefully not). As a Nigerian citizen, we’ll meet in court. Thank you. @jack”
247NNU had reported how Pro-SARS supporters, who are mostly made up of Fulani and Hausa boys, allegedly attacked #EndSARS protesters in Berger, Abuja.
