Watch As Black Passenger Knocks A White Man "Billy Steele" With One Firm Punch For "Saying Blacks Are His Pets"

A man claiming the name of ‘Billy Steele’ has been recorded on a London Underground train allegedly racially abusing other passengers.

He was knocked unconscious after he called a couple of black passengers his pets and lesser than him on a Central Line train in London. The man was punched hard by one of the black men alighting at the Bank Station in central London.

The footage of the video clip, shared by another passenger on the underground tube, has gone viral on various social media platforms.

If the Black Lives Matter movement, which emerged around the world at the end of May, showed us anything, it’s that racism is still very much a presence in modern society.

Videos regularly appear on social media showing alleged racist attacks and in August 2020 another example has been shared online.

This latest video shows a man allegedly shouting abuse at black passengers on a London Underground train before he is knocked to the ground by a punch from a passenger exiting the train.

On August 16th, 2020, a video emerged online showing a confrontation on the London Underground.

The video appears to show a white man, who in the video claims that his name is ‘Billy Steele’, shouting at a group of three black passengers as well as shouting at other passengers on the train, who attempt to defuse the situation.

After several minutes, the three black men get up to leave the train. While walking past the acclaimed ‘Billy Steele,’ Billy appears to say something else to the trio. One of the exiting passengers then turns around and punches Billy in the head, leaving him unconscious on the floor of the train.

Several onlookers initially cheered at the sight of the man hitting the ground but after he remained still on the floor, a number of passengers came to his aid. By the end of the video, the man can be seen regaining consciousness.

The full video is just over seven minutes in length and is currently on YouTube. However, viewer discretion is advised and the video contains scenes of violence. The video will not be shown in this article.

RACISM IS ‘POPULAR NOW’

A lot of the audio throughout the seven-minute video is unclear. However, you can hear one of the passengers asking acclaimed Billy: “Why are you being racist?”

The man, allegedly Billy, then responds: “It’s popular now.” Which he continues to shout several times.

Official stats from the UK government show that there is a rising trend for racially motivated hate crimes across England and Wales. Since 2012/13, the number of hate crimes has risen each year from 42,255 to 103,379 in 2018/19, an increase of around 145%.

CITIZENS ADVICE FOR SIMILAR INCIDENTS

The video of the London Underground incident has attracted a huge amount of attention on social media with people offering their thoughts on the incident.

Citizens Advice in the UK recommends reporting any racist abuse to the police rather than taking the law into your own hands.
