Sanwo-Olu’s wife tasks nurses on effective healthcare delivery

The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has tasked newly trained nurses on delivering effective health care services in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made this call while speaking at the third joint graduation ceremony of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando.

Represented by Abimbola Idowu, the First Lady expressed happiness to welcome the newly trained nurses into the esteemed medical profession that has a unique role of saving lives and making a positive impact on humanity after rigorous academic activities in the past years.

This was contained in a statement by the state government on Monday titled ‘First Lady charges nurses to promote effective healthcare delivery.’

According to the statement, Sanwo-Olu lectured the new nurses about their unique role of nurses in healthcare delivery and patient management control, stressing that nurses are the first point of contact for all patients in any given healthcare facility.

She further “affirmed that nursing is a dignified and respected profession that can never go into extinction, noting that it is more than a career but a calling that requires the endowment of natural qualities such as compassion, patience, and calmness required to care for people in time of great pain and need.”
