Anambra deputy governor Nkem Okeke dumps APGA for APC

Anambra deputy governor, Dr Nkem Okeke has dumped the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance for the APC, weeks to the governorship election on 6 November.

Okeke was received by President Buhari in Aso Rock Wednesday, in company of Governor Mai Mala Buni and Imo governor, Hope Uzodimma.


“President Muhammadu Buhari receives APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Anambra Deputy Governor joins APC in State House on 13th Oct 2021”, wrote Buni, who is the caretaker chairman of the APC.

The APC governorship candidate, Senator Andy Uba, who was palpably thrilled by the latest raid on APGA wrote:

“We welcome the current deputy governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke (Ugogbuzuo Enugwu Ukwu na Umunri) to our great party, APC.

“My aspiration to govern Anambra State is anchored on public interests.

“We will not disappoint di Anambra.

“We are setting New Development Agenda for Our State”.

Uzodimma, who heads Andy Uba’s campaign council said Okeke’s defection is to support the APC candidate, Andy Uba to become the governor of Anambra State come 6 November.

Of recent, the APC has been poaching lawmakers and big guns from the other parties, notably PDP and APGA.
