Tragic as UK boxer, Eubank found dead in Dubai

Sebastian Eubank, Chris and Karron Eubank's third eldest son, was living in the United Arab Emirates with wife Salma and their son Raheem before his tragic death. His dad said he was "loved and respected by all who knew him"

Chris Eubank's son Sebastian drowned on a beach near his home in Dubai in a family tragedy – just weeks before his 30th birthday.

The third eldest of Eubank’s five children was found dead at the scene, it was confirmed on Friday, July 9.

He became a dad for the first time a month ago and was living in the United Arab Emirates with wife Salma.

Chris Eubank Snr said: “Never did I ever imagine I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have at the loss of my son.

"My family and I are devastated to hear of the death of Sebastian just days before what would have been his 30th birthday.

“He leaves his wife Salma, his son Raheem born just a month ago, his mother Karron Meadows, brothers Nathanael, Chris, Jr, Joseph, one sister Emily and countless relatives and friends.

“Sebastian grew up in Hove in England but in the last few years made his life in Dubai where he had a wide circle of friends and was a leader in the adoption of a healthy lifestyle and of alternative therapies.

"As well as being a personal trainer and professional boxer, Sebastian was also a deep thinker who liked to challenge accepted wisdom.

"He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be forever in the thoughts of friends and family. As a family we now kindly ask to be given space and privacy to celebrate his life and remember the son, the brother, the husband, the friend.”

Seb became a pro boxer in 2018 and won three professional fights, going by the name of Alka Lion.

He beat Polish fighter Kamil Kulczyk in his debut bout in February 2018.

He was a vegan and a poet outside of the ring and made a successful MMA debut in January.

In April, Sebastian posted about being able to box again in front of a crowd.

He wrote on his Instagram: "Respect to my opponent, he was strong and resilient and came to put it all on the line.

"He was head hunting, trying to knock me out with brute strength, but he didn't know about the legendary Eubank granite chin."

His mum Karron said: "Our whole family is grieving at the huge loss of our son and brother, Sebastian.

"Please respect our grief and privacy while we try to comprehend our loss.”

Tributes have also been left by various members of the boxing community.
