Twitter Vows To Get Ban Reversed, Creates #KeepItOn Hashtag And Emoticon For Nigerians
On June 3, 2021, the Nigerian government placed a ban on Twitter after the micro-blogging app deleted a twee by President Buhari that went against their policies.
This has led to some consternation from all angles as this ban serves as a gag on the freedom of speech.
Twitter in reaction,, called the update "concerning", has vowed to work on reversing the ban but in the meantime, created a hashtag to help in Nigerians' protest against this ban.
