Police Chase Disrupts Tarmac As Prince Harry Returns To England

Prince Harry’s plane from Los Angeles to the UK departed amid the chaos of two runways being shut due to a police car chase.

He is returning to London to unveil a new statue of his mum, Princess Diana, to mark what would have been her 60th birthday.

But his visit started with drama as the police pursued a car on the south field of LAX airport while Harry’s black Cadillac SUV pulled up outside.

A driver broke through a fence at the FedEx cargo facility and then drove onto an airfield road, according to news channel CBS.

The driver was detained without injuries and an investigation is underway, airport police said.

They added no link with any departing flight has yet been discovered.

Prince Harry is set to unveil the tribute to Diana on July 1, in a scaled-back ceremony due to coronavirus restrictions.

He will reveal the statue alongside his brother Prince William, who he has not seen since the funeral of Prince Philip.

They have reportedly been communicating via text amid a fallout.

A source told The Sun: ‘The relationship is still very much strained and there’s no sign yet that there will be any sort of coming together any time soon.

‘The boys will walk out together out of respect for their mum.’

Up until this week the princes were going to welcome more than 100 guests to the emotional ceremony – but have had to cut it down due to Government restrictions.

Now there will just be a handful of guests, including the princes and several relatives from the Spencer family.

Next Thursday’s large ceremony has instead been delayed to a new date in Septembe
