Hundreds Of Chelsea Fans Storm Stamford Bridge Ahead Of Match With Brighton In Protest Against Super League

Hundreds of Chelsea fans have gathered outside Stamford Bridge to protest against the formation of a European Super League.

Flares were let off and obscenities were chanted as supporters gathered outside the ground ahead of this evening’s Premier League match against Brighton.

Fans held banners aloft, urging owner Roman Abramovich to ‘do the right thing’ and end Chelsea’s involvement in a plot that would destabalise the entire football pyramid.

The FA Cup finalists are one of six top flight English clubs who have joined forces with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, intent on joining a breakaway competition that has been castigated by politicians, pundits and footballers alike.

Under the new format, an elite group of clubs would compete against each other without the threat of relegation, earning vast sums of money and limiting entry to just five other teams.
