Kylian Mbappe Outshines Lionel Messi As PSG Leaves Barcelona In Tatters
Kylian Mbappe gave Barcelona another Champions League mountain to climb with a thrilling hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain won 4-1 at the Nou Camp in the last-16 first leg.
The 22-year-old outshone six-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, who could be joining PSG this summer, with an electrifying performance to confirm himself as football’s best young player.
Messi had put the hosts in front from the spot, but the 33-year-old was far from his usual self as Mbappe stole the show in the absence of the injured Neymar.
Barcelona were unable to get near the Frenchman as he equalised and then put the Ligue 1 champions in front, before Everton’s Moise Kean continued his loan success by adding another for the visitors.
Mbappe’s third was the pick of the bunch, a stunning curling effort on the break, and Barcelona have it all to do against PSG in the Champions League once again.
