UK Parliament Debate Exposes How Yakubu Gowon Allegedly Carted Away Half Of CBN To London During His Regime

The UK Parliament on Monday held a debate on probable sanctions to impose on the Nigerian government and other officials found culpable in the Lekki Massacre of October 20, 2020.

In an hour long debate which touched on other issues including the killing of Christians and the ingrained reign of corruption in the Nigerian government, the UK parliamentarians called for specific sanctions against the culprits not general economic sanctions which would adversely affect the citizens as a whole.

A particular portion of the debate however causing a ruckus on social media is the segment where it was said that General Yakubu Gowon, who became Head of State and introduced the NYSC in a bid to establish peace and reintegration after the Nigerian Civil War, stole and carted half of the Central Bank of Nigeria to London for his personal purse.
