Xavi Tipped To Replace Setien At Barcelona After Embarrassing 8-2 Deafeat Against Bayern

Former Barcelona star Xavi has been reportedly been tipped to replace embattled Quique Setien as the next manager at the Camp Nou after their embarrassing defeat against Bayern Munich. 


Barcelona on Friday night, August 14, crashed out in the 2019/20 Champions League after losing against Bayern Munich 8-2 in which Lionel Messi failed to score. 

The defeat means that Barcelona will not be winning any title this year having lost the Spanish La Liga crown to bitter rivals Real Madrid. And after the loss against Bayern Munich, there have been reports that Quique Setien will have to leave the club although Barcelona have not made an official statement. 

Former Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with a move to Barcelona. The Argentine has not gotten another job since he was fired at the Premier League side. But according to the report on UK Sun, Barcelona chiefs would prefer hiring Xavi. 

Xavi who is the boss at Al Sadd SC manager won LaLiga eight times and the Champions League on four occasions as a Barcelona midfield master. 

German champions Bayern Munich on Friday night, August 14, qualified for the semifinal of the 2019/20 Champions League after beating Spanish side Barcelona 8-2. It was a tough game for Barcelona and even their fans who never thought their players would concede such goals against Bayern Munich. 

Bayern Munich started the encounter impressively and scored their first goal in the 4th minute through Thomas Mueller who got a brilliant assist from Robert Lewandowski. 

David Alaba netted an goal in the 7th minute after his failure to pull out Jordi Alba's powerful cross to restore parity for Barcelona. Ivan Perisic then scored the second goal for Bayern Munich after receiving great pass from Serge Gnabry who then netted the third goal eight minutes later.
