SERAP Threatens To Sue National Assembly Over Oppressive Water Resources Bill

There were reports that that the House of Representatives on July 23, 2020, referred the National Water Resources Bill 2020 to a “committee of the whole,” for third reading and passage.


This Bill has been overtime condemned by Nigerians seeing as it restricts the rights of citizens to clean water. According to the bill, Nigerians will have to pay taxes before being able to dig a borehole in their compund.

Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) has threatened the National Assembly leaders, Femi Gbajabiamila and Ahmed Lawan to either kill the bill or be sued to face international justice.
