BREAKING NEWS: Barcelona Finally Makes Decision On Selling Messi After Embarrassing Bayern Loss

Josep Bartomeu who is the president of Spanish football side Barcelona has confirmed that the club's legend Lionel Messi will not be leaving the Nou Camp this summer.

There have been speculation over the future of Lionel Messi at Barcelona since the club's heavy defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Barcelona suffered an embarrassing 8-2 defeat against the German champions in which Lionel Messi failed to impress in the encounter.

Afterwards, there were reports that the Argentine has told Barcelona chiefs that he would leave the Catalans at the end of his contract.

Bartomeu who is currently evaluating Barcelona's performance at the 2019/20 season has however stated clearly that Lionel Messi will not leave.

“Koeman will be the new manager and he told me that Messi is a key player for our new project,'' Bartomeu explained according to UK Sun. Barcelona chiefs were disappointed after the end of 2019/20 season in which their players failed to lift any title at the Camp Nou.

The club were linked with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and former club's striker Thierry Henry before they went for retired Dutch footballer Ronald Koeman. Koeman has previously managed PSV, Benfica, Ajax and Valencia before joining Barcelona as the new coach.
